Surrey Heath Bonsai Society was founded in December 1989 by a small group of local bonsai enthusiasts. As the club has grown we have moved twice and now meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at Pirbright Village Hall, Pirbright Green, Dawney Hill Road, (A324) Pirbright. GU24 0JE.
Each month we have either club workshops or visiting experts to talk about varying tree styles. Each meeting we also have a themed “Tree of the Month” with the trees voted on by the members themselves.
We have a Summer Show held each year at the same venue with this years show being held on Saturday 8th May 2016. Contact is via the Chairman Chris Rhodes either through the link on the website or via phone on 01276-20893. We currently have 61 members on our books with a regular monthly attendance of @ 35.

Over the past few years, and in order to increase our standing within the bonsai community, we have greatly increased the number of shows that we attend. This has made us very aware about both the quality of trees required for display plus how a display should be set-up. To this point we now have a designated Show Manager (Brian Wallin) to control all shows that we attend.
Trees for the Swindon Show will be picked at our next meeting on Tuesday 2nd February.
