There was a superb range of bonsai trees on display as part of the visiting clubs and societies at the Wessex Show and the winning bonsai society display was won by Celtic Knot.
Sunday 14th May 2017. The venue is at Rowdeford School, just outside Devizes on the A342 from Devizes to Chippenham.

Tonights club night was a special night as we awarded Dennis the life long membership award to Swindon Bonsai Club. In addition he also received the 40th anniversary gift and a present for his long commitment to bonsai as a hobby and as a thank you for his support and involvement in the club for so many years.
There was a good selection of bonsai traders at the Wessex Show this weekend. Lots to buy and it was hard not to when you take a look at some of the exquisite items for sale including mini Japanese pots. There was also a great variety of bonsai trees for sale from a range of traders.
The winner of the Jack Bellinger Competition between Eastleigh, Solent and Wessex Bonsai went to Solent Bonsai, so congratulations for the winning display.
The winner of the shohin and mame class was Anthony Stribling with his Hornbeam. In second place was Tom Buchanan with his Blackthorn. In third place was Tony Oswin with his Hawthorn.
The winner of the self styled class was Tony Oswin with his Oak tree. In second place was Anthony Stribling with his Hawthorn. In third place was Chris Jefferys with his Box.
Congratulations to Tony Oswin for winning the flowering and fruiting class with his Hawthorn. Chris Jefferys came second with his Cotoneaster and in third place was Anthony Stribling with his Hawthorn.
The winner of the conifer class was Bob Savage with a superb White Pine. In second place was Malcom Driffield with his Juniper and in third place was Chris Jefferys with his Pine tree.
