Thank you once again Vic Harris for donating two stunning bonsai pots for our raffle as prizes at our Swindon Winter Image show on the Sunday 28th February 2016.

John Pitt of John Pitt Bonsai Ceramics will be present at the Swindon Bonsai Winter Image Show 2016 on Sunday 28th February. Here is a sneak preview of some of his new pot creations and new colours of pots he will be selling at the show. If you want one, you will need to be there early to avoid disappointment and the show opens at 10.30am. However, John does do commissions so check out his website for more details otherwise.

On March 12 (Saturday) and 13 (Sunday), Lodder Bonsai bv and Hoka-en will hold their annual Open House. They have prepared an interesting programme during these 2 days. Demonstrations on Saturday by Vaclav Novak and on Sunday by Hotsumi Terakawa; a bonsai exhibition by the members of bonsai club Shoryukai.

Mame is a term used to describe very small bonsai usually less than 10 centimetres or 4 inches in height and generally smaller than shohin. They are very cute due to the smallness of size but do require extra care given the size of pot to avoid drying out.
