Martin Shepherd at our show

Martin this year exhibited a Deshojo maple (Acer palmatum ‘deshojo’) in a tokonoma pot, which he has owned and developed for the past 10 years after it was imported from Japan.

Ritta Cooper at our show

It was a really privilege to see Ritta’s mame display, such compact, well developed trees displayed so well and to such a high standard. John Armitage at our show

John set up a Kifu display that included a Chinese Juniper (Juniperus chinensis itoigawa). It originated from Japan and was in a Walsall pot and he has owned it for 11 years. As part of the same display he had a Spindle (Euonymus spp.) also from Japan in a Housen pot.

Traders at our show

Mark & Ritta Cooper at our show

Mark and Ritta have some stunning trees and this year they did not disappoint with the two main exhibition trees they displayed. The first was a Mountain Maple (Acer palmatum) from Japan that they have owned for 5 years now since 2014. It was in a Tokoname Shuho pot and had the most magnificent ramification. Mo Fagan at our show

Mo presented a Japanese larch group (Larix  kaempferi) which was constructed in around 1990 and is in a John Pitt pot and has been in Mo’s ownership for 8 years.

Raffle prizes won with delight

Accents at our show

This year the accents followed a theme as spring has come early so many bulbs were in bloom so a very colourful display of accents on show. Mame display by Michael Partridge

Michael presented a mame display made up of 6 of his trees with a bamboo and moss accent. He is a long standing member of Swindon Bonsai Club and has grown most of the mame trees from cuttings since 2014 at this years club show.
