Gold again at Chelsea Flower Show – well done Reg, Hon Club President and his team on the 5th gold medal on the trot. The display included three trees from other exhibitors on the FOBBS stand, all the other trees are from the Swindon Club.

Trident Maple over rock
Here is a brief photographic history of a Trident maple over rock (Acer buergarianum). It was originally bought as a training piece in 1996 from Ken Leaver of Windybank Bonsai and it is a combination of 5 trees fused together over the rock.
May tree of the month
This months tree of the month was won by a Scots Pine and they owner also brought in two images of the tree in its earlier stages of development to show its progress.
Wessex Show 2012
The Wessex Bonsai Society hosted yet another excellent show for 2012 and there were some great trees on display within their own members sections as well as within the open competition and also from visiting clubs, societies and traders. Wessex have a very active
Acer Palmatum ‘Kiyohime’
This was a tree that was purchased by its current owner in 1980 from Harry Tomlinson as a training piece. It was originally a broom style which was somewhat neglected and in a poor condition at time of purchase.
April tree of the month
This month was the first tree of the month for this year and it was well attended and in 1st place was a Cotoneaster root over rock, in 2nd place a flowering Crab Apple and in 3rd place was a Hawthorn.
Update on club trees Trident Maple
