Kit started bonsai as a hobby in 2012 and this was the same year he joined Swindon Bonsai Club. His first ever bonsai was a Cherry tree and his favorite tree is the Japanese Apricot the Prunus mume, while his least favourite tree species is Ash.
He likes to work on his Crab apple (Malus seibioldi) in addition to all his other trees which are teeny tiny in size and called mame.
Kit has a great collection of mame and his preferred style is semi cascade.
The majority of Kit’s collection so far has been bought but he has started to grow some from seed including Malus.
He is keen to learn more about the art of displaying bonsai and has already begun to display his superb mini trees at many major shows including Wisley, Heathrow and Swindon.
His inspiration comes from seeing trees at bonsai shows and what he likes most about bonsai is that people are endlessly generous.
His father had some bonsai when he was a child and he gave Kit some pots which he then used to start the hobby.
