A colourful AGM last night with a number of flowering trees placed on the display. All members of the committee remain in post and one of the main objects of the evening was to agree on a revised club constitution which was voted for unanimously, this will soon replace the one already on our website.
Our Club President, Reg presented an ‘Award for Life Membership’ to our long standing Treasurer……. [and suffering], Graham. He has held the post for many years and is always actively involved with everything to do with the Swindon club.
The Club Chairman Paul, presented the ‘Annual Club Merit’ Award to Sally & Derek. this award was introduced several years ago to be presented to any club member that gets involved, helps out and has improved their trees throughout the past year. It is voted by the present committee and the winner holds the shield for a year and also has a workshop with John Trott, Mendip bonsai, where it is hoped that valuable knowledge is then brought back to the club for the benefit of other members. Thanks go to John who agreed that as a one off, it could go to two winners this year as they just couldn’t be seperated in their commitment to the club. Credit to Andy and Sally for the photos.
