After a report on here by Ross regarding a Japanese black pine…………way back in 2020, I finally had the time to have a go but on a much smaller scale. https://swindon-bonsai.co.uk/2020/09/06/creating-an-exposed-root/
It’s been a year since I took the forsythia out of its tube and potted it in this ceramic pot. The roots were supported for a season with cling film, wrapped around them as they aren’t as thick as a pine and it stopped the tree blowing around. I am also trying it with a cotoneaster but that needs another season or two before it will look anything. I will wait until the flowers are over then I can prune it back to keep the head in proportion with the size of trunk.
Food for thought, maybe others will give it a go????? [Sorry, forgot to clean the pot]
