This month we held an open tree critique, and invited our members to bring in their trees for open discussion with new ideas, feedback and suggestions. These are usually bonsai you have but no idea in what direction it could be going in.

This weekend it was Bonsai World 2015 presented by the Sussex Bonsai Group at K2 Centre in Crawley, West Sussex. It was also in memory of Ray Ward and proved to again be a very good show at a superb venue.
The accents at Bonsai World 2015 were great, here is a selection of some of them that formed part of individual and club displays. A good range of ferns, hosta’s, grasses and many more species and presented in some colourful and very artistic pots.

Today was Surrey Heath Bonsai Show which was held at Lord Pirbright Hall, The Green, Pirbright, Surry, GU24 0JE. Bougainvillea glabra An evergreen plant which is a thorny ornamental vine, bush or tree which is originally from South America and can sometimes become deciduous if kept warm over winter or kept too moist. They are very decorative plants with attractive flowers from scarlet to lilac in colour.
