The winner of the conifer class was Bob Savage with a superb White Pine. In second place was Malcom Driffield with his Juniper and in third place was Chris Jefferys with his Pine tree.
The winner of this class was Mike Fieldhouse with a stunning maple and it also won the Challenge Rose Bowl for the Best Tree in Show. Congratulations to all those who entered their bonsai trees into the Open Competition at the Wessex Show on Sunday 1st May, there were some superb trees in the competition and it was a fun day.
Congratulations to Newbury and District Bonsai Society for receiving a large Gold medal for their display at the recent Royal County of Berkshire Show near Newbury Show in September. A good diversity of tree species, sizes and good overall composition of the display.
The Wessex Show was as usual an excellent show with a good standard of bonsai in the competition and here are the winners of each class from the Show.
The Shohin UK II Exhibition did not dissappoint, it was great to see so many wonderful Shohin, Chuhin and a few Mame on display and there were also some beautiful stands, particularly the root stands as well as some brightly coloured and ornate pots too.
