It was a very quiet show without the familiar voice of Manuel which is usually heard throughout the day discussing and explaining the art of bonsai to anyone who is interested. It was a very good show and had lots of excellent trees on display in the exhibition and by the local clubs. Newbury Society won the Best Club Stand Award, and Mark Kerry from Newbury the Best Tree in Show with his fantastic Juniper. Bob Bailey won the Mame and Shohin classes. Chris Thomas did a very good job of sorting out the trees that won, I am sure not an easy task. There were also trade stands there with pots, trees, stands and suiseki and other bonsai related material.
