On Wednesday the 8th March 2023, Reg and I gave a short talk to the Rotary Club from Royal Wootton Bassett at the Bassett Down Golf Club as part of their club meeting.
There was a small display of trees which was admired by many of the club members. Getting there and back, together with unloading everything and then loading it back up in blizzard and white out conditions. It was so bad you couldn’t even see the golf course. We covered the very basics of bonsai and how to keep them, some of the display were from plants found in any garden and the club members could really relate to their own gardens. These were forsythia, cotoneaster, lonicera and larch. Who knows some may even go away and give the hobby a try?
