The bonsai exhibition in China was fun, and well worth the trip and many others from around the world thought so too given the attendees present from Canada, Australia, Tasmania, France, Germany, America and India to name a few of the countries we met people from.
This was a first to see bonsai in China at an amazing 5 day convention hosted and organised by Bonsai Clubs International and Asia-Pacific Bonsai and Viewing Stones convention and it was held in September in Guangzhou. Congratulations to Newbury and District Bonsai Society for receiving a large Gold medal for their display at the recent Royal County of Berkshire Show near Newbury Show in September. A good diversity of tree species, sizes and good overall composition of the display.
John Trott at Mendip Bonsai Studio will have samples of the NEW bronze figures at the Swindon ‘Winter Image’ show on the 24th Feb 2013. Well it was certainly a different show. Helped by the lovely warm weather. It was a first in the UK and Europe, so was a bit of a gamble, I for one really enjoyed the day and took away so many ideas for my own collection.
Gold again at Chelsea Flower Show – well done Reg, Hon Club President and his team on the 5th gold medal on the trot. The display included three trees from other exhibitors on the FOBBS stand, all the other trees are from the Swindon Club.
