Clive Harber club member display

Clive was exhibiting his Korean Hornbeam (Carpinus turczaninowii) this year at the show as a club member of Swindon. He has owned this tree since 2007 and it was originally bought from a bonsai trader and is now in a Japanese pot.

Alan Redford club member display

Dennis Henley club member display

Dennis is one of Swindons long standing club members and he presented a superb Elm tree, which was in a Walsall ceramics pot. He has been working with this tree for 25 years and it has some excellent ramification. He also set up a collection of his Elms with some hand made wooden accent holders, which were very unique.

Elm project 2019

This year we have started off another Chinese Elm project to include any new members and existing members and see what they can achieve with these sightly larger Elms this year. Paul Bowerbank Life time member award

Our Chairman, Paul Bowerbank has been awarded a Life Time Member Award at our Annual General Meeting, presented by Sally May. This is to recognise his contribution to Swindon Bonsai Society and bonsai as a whole. He has a passion for bonsai and is always keen to share this with new and existing club members.

Mark Kerry club member displays

Mame with Kit Bowns at our show

Kit who is a club member of Swindon and well known for his passion for small trees, set up yet another fantastic miniature display of fascinating mame and accompanying items. It made up a super display and it was a delight to spend time admiring each element.

Sally Mays shohin display

Sally’s shohin display contained 6 trees and an accent and five of the trees are presented on a shohin display stand. There was a Premna (Premna serratifolia), Japanese quince (Chaenomeles speciosa) Korean hornbeam (Carpinus turczaninowii), Trident maple (Acer buergerianum).
