Jake Hobson of Niwaki has kindly donated raffle prizes for our Winter Image show in 2012. He has donated a stunning pair of Okatsune Bonsai sissors which would make a great addition to anyones bonsia tool kit.
They are beautifully crafted, very pleasing to use for pruning and also very practical as they have a fine point which allows you to get in close and make a defined pruning cut exactly where it is required.
Also in the raffle will be his book entitled ‘Niwaki‘ and this is an excellent guide to pruning and training techniques for creating great shapes for garden trees that can also be applied to bonsai.
We recently attended two workshops with Jake this year focusing on two needle pines, one in May and the other in October and both were highly informative and for more information on his workshops visit his website at www.niwaki.com. Jake also has a new book out called the Art of creative pruning which is a great read and there are some wonderful images of trees pruned in so many ways throughout the world to set your imagination alight.
Thank you once again Jake and Niwaki for this excellent raffle prize and if you cannot wait for the raffle visit the Niwaki website and see what other great products he sells as he has a new extended range of pruning shears and sissors that are very suitable for use in bonsai as well as for Niwaki.
