Shohin Class 6 was defined by the size of the entry initially and all trees needed to be less than 12 inches in dimension on all sides, however depending on which definition you use the size of Shohin classification can vary but for this is was larger than the Mame classification and as stated all trees needed to be able to fit inside a 12 inch cube.
Self styled was Class 7 and the requirement was that the tree must be styled entirely by the owner and their own work, and at no stage to have been styled or suggested by another and finally not to have come from a bonsai nursery. Here are the winners from class 7.
Mame Class 8 was the final class in the Open Competition and this was for trees up to 6 inches in height including their container and here are the winners from this class.
