1st place, Maarten van der Hoeven – Fagus crenata, Japanese White Beech
This show was contained within the Lodders open day, an opportunity for members Sho Ryu Kai group to display their trees. This happens usually twice a year, once in late winter/early spring and the later in the autumn. The group has some very knowledagble members with some beautiful specimens of all sizes of tree. The award winning tree, a Japanese White Beech is particularly striking, and an aged Potentilla with its eye catching twisted bark certainly attracts the attention.
