This year the European Bonsai San Show was, as usual, very impressive; trees from Japan as well from Italy, Spain and more. The guests included, Ryan Neil, Andres Alvarez Iglesias and David Benavente. The demonstrations were really interesting which covered what trees needs for the first styling only. This year there were more traders than previous years, about sixty (one of the biggest market place for bonsai in Europe); you can imagine that it was really hard to resist!

Trees (importation, yamadori, production from Europe), pots, tempi, suiseki, stands, it was the place to be. The exhibition was great, as you can see that with pictures. In France, the European Bonsai San Show is very popular, the majority of visitors drive about five hours to get there, sometimes more. It is regarded at the top, with the Noelander’s Trophy – one of the most appreciated show for many europeans.

And every year, it is a real pleasure to discover the new session of the exhibition. The only problem…British Bonsai is not represented.

A big thank you to our friend Nico for his thoughts.
