Thank you to all our 6 judges, Steve McKee, John Brocklehurst, Andy Jordan, Mark Kerry, Paul Eslinger and Bill Baker for all their work at the show analyzing and viewing all the exhibits and selecting the eventual award winning trees. It was not an easy task as the standard and quality of trees on display was superb.

The judges had a large task ahead of them; they had to review 11 club displays, 112 individual trees including trees on the club displays. As well as the 7 Shohin displays with multiple trees in as short time period before the show opened which is no mean feat given the diversity and quality on trees display. The judges not only had to select their top three in each category but many gave useful feedback or positive comments on their chosen trees too.

John Trott judged the accent award and had over 70 accents to choose from in his selection, which is amazing and the standard of accents was excellent too.

Thank you also to Roger Gibbs from Middlesex Bonsai Society for the loan and use of the tree numbers which makes judging and identifying the trees an easier process. Also thank you to Derek May for collating all the data on the trees at the start of the show to aid the judges and also collating their results in good time before the awards ceremony at 2pm. The judges sheets were then left out for view by everyone to see how the voting worked.
