Tonight was another excellent lively discuss filled club night with lots of new members and new trees to talk about. Everyone was working on or discussing their bonsai trees and a lot of shared knowledge and information was being passed on.
Key topics discussed included re-potting and the season for re-potting, pruning and training Yew trees. Restoring a mature Privet with a concrete-filled trunk. Developing yamadori and nursery stock into bonsai including a Lawson Cypress as a potential Literati, a Mugo pine and a Contorted Hazel. Derek continued to photograph the project Elm trees and monitor their progress. Graham was back and organising tree of the month and we had the start of some good autumn colour.
