In Winter the stunning new vibrant shoots of the Cornus or commonly known Dogwood shrub can brighten up your day as they are just radiant. They come in a range of colours and for fun I have created my very own rainbow bonsai group using Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’ (Red), Cornus sang ‘Winter beauty’ (Orange), Cornus ‘Midwinter Fire’ (Orange / Yellow),  and Cornus sericea ‘Flaviramea’ (green) all planted in a bright blue pot.

Here are a few shots of the raw plants that I made up the group with, that will now need to mature……and I think they will be best as a winter image. I have not tried to bonsai Cornus before but here goes and I would be interested to know if anyone else has tried and if they were successful so let me know if you have been by e-mailing: contact@swindon-bonsai.co.uk
