There is a lot of work behind the scenes prior to the first day of RHS Chelsea Flower Show and one key element is setting up the trees on the display once the stand is constructed. It is a very large display area and requires some substantial bonsai trees to show case the art of bonsai as well as a carefully selected set of trees that present a harmonious presentation that work well together.
This years display set up by Reg Bolton included more trees than previous years with an additional row added of Mame and Shohin trees to show the range of species and sizes of bonsai for the public, to raise awareness of the diversity of bonsai. It won a Gold medal and this is the 8th consecutive Gold medal for the FoBBS display here at Chelsea.
Here are the bonsai tree that were on the display and some of these are owned by members of Swindon and District Bonsai Society including Reg Bolton, Terry Adams, Ross Addison, Amelia Williams and Sally May.
