Swindon Bonsai makes BBC Radio Wiltshire

Exciting news, Paul Bowerbank, our Chairman was on BBC Wiltshire today on the James Thomas Break Show talking about our Winter Image Bonsai Show at Swindon tomorrow, Sunday 26th February at the Grange Leisure Centre, Grange Drive, Stratton St Margaret, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 4JY.

If you want to listen it is about 2.49 minutes into the programme and lasts for around  3 minutes. So do come along to the show it is open to the public and starts at 10.30am until 4pm and entry is £5. If you have never seen bonsai then this is a great place to come to see them on display and also buy one yourself and start the hobby.

Bonsai displays

Here are a few images of some of the trees on display in 2016 and we hope you will enjoy this years bonsai trees too. We have in addition to Swindon Club Member trees, displays from invited guests including John Pitt, Steve McKee, Harry Harrington, Simon Temblett, Martin Shepherd, Graham Simpson, Nick Payne, Andrew Smith. Plus Bill Baker, Malcolm Driffield, John Armitage, Andy Jordan, John Brocklehurst, Simon Crocker and Jerry Wheeler.

You can also enter our raffle and win one or more of the amazing prizes below plus more so don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets on the door or throughout the day and the draw is at 2.30pm.

 

Bonsai traders

The traders who will be at the show tomorrow include John Pitt who is also our Show sponsor, Windybank Bonsai, Walsall Studio Ceramics, Lee Verhorevoort Bonsai, Chris Thomas, John Trott of Mendip Bonsai Studios, Greenwood Bonsai Studio.

As well as Esoteric pots, Stone Monkey, David Sampson of Fine Japanese Suiseki, Dan Butler, Gordon Duffett, Doug Mudd, Suteki and the Swindon Club sales. So lots of opportunity to buy some great bonsai items from such a wide range of bonsai traders.

 

Bonsai Clubs and Societies

You can also meet many of the local Bonsai clubs and societies tomorrow at the show if you are interested in starting the hobby of bonsai and they can offer help and advice. Those displaying include Bristol, Ashfield, Phoenix, Tees Valley, Splinter Group, Newbury, Dragon, Warminster, Solent, Surrey Heath and Berkshire Bonsai.

 

Fun day out
