Tonights club night was a special night as we awarded Dennis the life long membership award to Swindon Bonsai Club. In addition he also received the 40th anniversary gift and a present for his long commitment to bonsai as a hobby and as a thank you for his support and involvement in the club for so many years.
At the club night there was also an opportunity to buy some bonsai pots that belonged to a previous bonsai enthusiast and all the money raised from the sale of the pots was being donated to the British Heart Foundation. The pots varied in size and shape, some were ceramic, others were mica pots and some were made by well known potters.
The club night was a general workshop, and many club members brought in lots of trees to prune and work on which was great. Tree of the month was well attended too and a follow up post will be posted shortly with the trees and results.
