It is always fun to go on a bonsai shopping trip and we were not disappointed on arrival at Lodder Bonsai near Harmelen in the Netherlands to find a new shipment of trees had just arrived plus the nursery as always was full of stunning bonsai trees of all species, shapes, styles and price ranges.

Shopping for Tropical Bonsai trees
Having a great passion for Taiwan Figs meant that it was hard for me to choose from the vast selection of Figs whilst shopping at Lodder Bonsai in Holland this year. They sell such a wide range of tropical tree species for anyone who has the space indoors to keep them.
Ficus microcarpa (Ginseng Fig or Banyan Fig)
Recently I have been caring for a Ficus microcarpa as it was starting to show decline and leaf problems so I agreed to aid with the recovery if I could as I am used to looking after tropical bonsai trees having a few myself for the past 6 years.
