Despite the wet weather, it was well worth making the journey down to Exmouth today for the reward of seeing yet again some high class bonsai trees being displayed to their best advantage by the South West bonsai societies from Cornwall, Devon, South Wales and Swindon.
Great to see the superb minature Shohin / Mame displays from the Artistic Circle presented by Bob Bailey, Dan Barton, Mark and Ritta Cooper. In addition, a stunning show of Satsuki Azalea in full to partial bloom.
The new talent competition drew great interest from the attending crowds and the winner was Marcus Watts from Cornwall. Chris Thomas also led a brilliant tree / display critique of the displays for all to gain insight from.
There was something for all ages to enjoy from the fun jurassic display of Dawn Redwoods in a swamp to the meticulous presentation of exquisite Shohin trees and a great event in 2011 to have visited.
