Dai-ichi of Hermitage, Newbury will be one of the traders at Our Winter Image show this coming February and will have a range of products for sale.

There are winter sales at both their shops with 50% off all pots at the Hermitage shop and 25-75% reductions on Chinese pots and 50% on ‘selected trees’ at their Redditch (Studley Garden Centre) shop due to relocating to an alternative site shortly. They provide a mail order service for all your bonsai supplies and have an extensive range of tools, bonsai stands, pots and trees to name a few of the products available. For more information visit their website. Furthermore, Dai-ichi are running a series of five 09:30-16:30 bonsai classes next year. There is a choice of Saturday or Sunday starting on 18th/19th February, followed by 21st/22nd April, 16th/17th June, 18th/19th August and ending on 3rd/4th November. The cost is £360, 50% payable on booking, balance payable at the first lesson, price to include tea, coffee and buffet lunch. The classes will take place at Studley Garden centre at Redditch.

They have kindly donated three wonderful books on Japanese Gardening for our Winter Show raffle, the first is called ‘Japanese Gardening in small spaces’ and it is a step by step guide with easy to follow inllustrations.

The second ‘Creating Japanese Gardens’ by Philip Cave and it provides a welath of information on the essential design elements of Japanese Gardens.

Finally the third book is called ‘The Art of Japanese Gardens’ by Herb Gustafson which contains a selection of designs for Japanese Gardens based on real examples and the photographs are beautiful.
