Shohin UK II Exhibition 2015
The Shohin UK II Exhibition did not dissappoint, it was great to see so many wonderful Shohin, Chuhin and a few Mame on display and there were also some beautiful stands, particularly the root stands as well as some brightly coloured and ornate pots too.

This months meeting was the Annual General Meeting as well as a short talk from Kit Bowns on his Shohin entry for the Shohin UK II Exhibition 2015 this weekend.
Azalea as bonsai
Azalea as bonsai are stunning due to the abundant flowers which come in all colours, shapes and sizes. There are many varieties so species selection is key to ensure that you have the one you want. They belong to the Rhododendron genus which is part of the Ericaceae family.

Bougainvillea as Bonsai
Bougainvillea glabra An evergreen plant which is a thorny ornamental vine, bush or tree which is originally from South America and can sometimes become deciduous if kept warm over winter or kept too moist. They are very decorative plants with attractive flowers from scarlet to lilac in colour.
Camellia as Bonsai
Camellia are another stunning flowering tree or shrub which make for an interesting bonsai for those who like flowering species. One of the most commonly used is Camellia japonica, however there are over 200 species of Camellia so a wide range to choose from.
