What a diverse range of plants under one roof, such a collection was phenomenal to see. It was a fun show with a lot of interest in cacti and succulents from everyone who came along to the annual British Cactus and Succulent Society Show Wiltshire Branch at Melksham Assembly Halls on Saturday 24th June 2017.

There were over a two hundred entries into the competition, which gave Costas Papathanasiou a good range of cacti and succulents to judge.

The award winning cacti and succulents

Thank you to everyone from the Wiltshire branch who helped out prior to the day and on the day making the teas, doing the entry on the door, aiding with the set up and take down. Maggie did a sterling job on the sales tables and it was great to have such a good range of plants to sell. Congratulations to Derek May Chairman of the Wiltshire Branch for organising and managing a great cacti and succulent show for the Wiltshire branch.

The Show

A big thank you to everyone who entered their cacti and succulents into the competition it really makes a huge difference having such great support.

The award winners from the show

Also thank you to Alan Phipps Cacti, Parnham Bungalow Plants and the Garden plant society for supporting the show and selling plants. Plus Warminster Bonsai Society for putting on a great bonsai display and demonstrating bonsai techniques throughout the day. We also had some special cactus and succulent edible cup cakes made by Little Buttercup cakery and they were fabulous.

Traders and supporters

Finally a massive thank you to all the show and class sponsors as this enabled the show to proceed and we couldn’t have done it without you either.

We look forward to seeing you next year in June 2018.
