Congratulations John Trott for yet another fantastic award winning bonsai display at this years RHS Flower Show at Hampton Court. A wonderful selection of bonsai tree species with flowering Azaleas as well as deciduous and coniferous tree species on display.
Blackmore Vale Bonsai Group hosted their annual show and it was a well attended event and supported by many other local bonsai clubs. Congratulations to Staverton Bonsai Group who were the winners of the best society display at the show. Best tree in show was won by Ian Duff after a tie break and Ian also won the Shield for the best Blackmore Vale Bonsai Group members’ tree. Look out for next years show on the 28th June 2020.
It’s that time of year again for Jeff and Reg’s open gardens. Jeff is an RHS judge for fruit, flowers and Veg and Reg is an RHS judge for bonsai also known for the many Gold medal displays at the Chelsea Flower show. A unique opportunity to wander the gardens and get up close to the magnificent trees.

Chris is always fun to work with, this time no different. He shares a really positive attitude about getting the most out of time and material. Club members brought in their bonsai that they were either having difficulty making decisions with; or just needed a bit of help with.
Another lovely day at the Rowdeford Garden Fair, the weather was good to us, coupled with some unusual plants from the specialist traders, in great condition at good prices. It saw lots of the visitors struggling back to their cars with arms full of plants and trees. We were again positioned in front of the main school house and under the most impressive plane tree. I was so busy admiring the plants, I forgot to take any photographs from around the event. Luckily, there are plenty of pictures on previous events…

John Trott of Mendip Bonsai Studio has been recognised as a Master Grower by the Royal Horticultural Society in 2019 and had an amazing bonsai stand and display at this years RHS Malvern Spring Show in the Floral marquee.
