This year we have 10 visiting bonsai clubs and societies to our Winter Image Show on Sunday 24th February. If you are interested in the art or hobby of bonsai then come along and meet some of the clubs as there is bound to be one near you if you want to join one.
This year there will be a superb collection of bonsai trees on display at our Swindon Winter Image Show on Sunday 24th February. The show is being held at the Grange Leisure Centre , Grange Drive, Stratton St Margaret, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 4JY. For more details contact Chairman Paul on 07982 401103. The doors open at 10am following the judging and is an all day event finishing at 4pm.

Malcolm Antony Comley will be missed by all his friends in the bonsai community and especially by Swindon Bonsai Club Members. The loss of Malcolm will be felt by all but he will not be forgotten as the fun loving person with a passion for bonsai trees.

It is less than a week to go now before the Swindon Winter Image Show 2019 and your chance to win a superb prize in our raffle on Sunday 24th February. Raffle tickets are being sold on the day for a £1.00 per ticket and there are over 20 prizes to be won so don’t forget to buy yours at the door or throughout the day. The awards for the trees in the competition will be at 14.00 closely followed by the raffle at 14.30pm so have your tickets ready.

The Winter Image Exhibition hosted by Swindon Bonsai Society is one of the highlights in our calendar year. It is the culmination of weeks of work making pots specially for this event. This year we will bring fewer accent pots and instead increase the number of bonsai pots. Each of these pots will be unique and a wide range of sizes will be available from tiny to very large with a wide selection of shapes, colours and textures. Gerrit Lodder has kindly supplied prizes for the raffle at our annual show next weekend. They have supported our endeavours for a number of years now and have provided some great prizes, so turn up and buy a ticket. Then you’ll be in with a chance of winning one of these fantastic prizes.
The recent auction at Heathrow also contained a mini Suiseki show.
Included in the entry ticket price to the recent bonsai auction at Heathrow presented by the UK Bonsai Association was a Mame show. Always good to see some smaller bonsai, usually dwarfed by their fellow bigger trees at shows and overlooked; the artistry and difficulty is by no means any less.
