Award Success for Swindon members at the Noelanders Trophy XVIII 2017, Genk, Belgium Swindon Bonsai Society members Mark and Ritta Cooper have become frequent exhibitors over recent years at both our Winter Image show and the Noelanders Trophy. They entered the Noelanders Trophy for the first time back in 2013.
Accents @ Spirit of Shohin 2016
In addition to seeing some stunning Shohin and Mame bonsai at the Spirit of Shohin Show at RHS Wisley there were also some creative and colourful accents, amazing bronzes, scrolls and beautiful pots.

What a fabulous spring show of Shohin and Mame bonsai held at a stunning venue too at the RHS Gardens of Wisley. Congratulations to everyone who was part of the show especially Andy Jordan, the exhibitors and traders.
Cascade or not to cascade
It was a great opportunity at this years Swindon Winter Image Bonsai Show to see a fantastic array of bonsai styles, shapes and sizes as well as a good diversity of tree species. One style that captured my interest was that of the cascade and semi cascade.
Raffle prizes
A huge thank you to all the traders for their amazing donations to our raffle, we had 25 prizes and that meant a lot of lucky people went home with some great prizes.
Traders @ our Winter Image Show 2016
This year the bonsai traders were again selling a fabulous range of everything bonsai and some of their sales tables were also great exhibits too. Here is a quick look at the traders who attended the show and hopefully everyone bought a little something from one or more of them.
Club member’s trees
The work that is involved in putting on any kind of show is usually quite considerable and this is true of a bonsai show. The Club members and their families who help to support the Swindon Bonsai Club displayed many of their own bonsai trees this year.
Shopping for Shohin bonsai
Shohin bonsai are a size of bonsai which are around 20 cm or 8 inches in height and are larger than mame. Small trees @ our Winter Image Show
Shohin and Mame were represented well at this years Swindon Winter Image Show and not just as displays but as companion trees to larger trees and as part of club displays too. Here are a selection of the tiny trees that caught my attention at the show.
