This Saturday we were fortunate to have a whole day with Chris Thomas at a workshop at Swindon. It was well attended by club members who brought in a whole range of their bonsai trees for help and advice from Chris.

This weekend was the Saturday workshop with Lee Verhorevoort from Lee Verhorevoort Bonsai and this was an ideal opportunity for all club members to get professional advice from Lee and get pruning and style tips and guidance on your own bonsai trees. This month we held an autumn workshop to discuss the interesting transitional period between active and dormant. This year has produced mixed results for autumn foliage in the UK, largely down to climatic influences more than anything. I believe the Americans call looking at autumnal colour ‘leaf peeping’ which I think is a nice sentiment…. Read more »

Wiring was the theme for this months workshop for our members. Some like it, some loath it. The process can be fiddly and time consuming but learning to do it well can help bring a better structure and a precisely defined look to your trees.
