The shohin displays were stunning at the LodderBonsai open house weekend in Holland, it was great to see so many small bonsai trees on display and so exquisite in their form and aesthetic.

During the open weekend at LodderBonsai we got to listen to a Q&A session with Peter Chan of Herons Bonsai as well as watch a demonstration by Jan Culek. It was a packed event on both days with lots of interesting discussions on bonsai throughout both days.

LodderBonsai is a large bonsai nursery located in Utrecht Holland. It is owned and run by Gerrit Lodder and a great team of staff who are incredibly knowledgeable on all things bonsai and who helped to run the open weekend. The Swindon backdrops have to be dismantled and stored, so consist of wooden posts and cloth. A few fabulous trees, meticulously prepared for exhibition were spoilt by their placement in front of posts.
