Wessex Bonsai Society Club Display

Wessex Bonsai Society was established in 1983 and hosted another great exhibition this year in addition to an Open Competition. They put on their own club display too which included some excellent trees and a diverse range of species including a Lilac which was in full flower.

Here is an interesting article in a French newspaper following on from the Saturday of the Exposition de Bonsai which was a great success and an excellent Bonsai show to visit for the weekend. It is held every two years so book in for 2016 on your bonsai events calendar as an event to visit.

Another nice show at Failands, Near Bristol. Unfortunately, I had to leave before any awards were announced.

Wessex Bonsai Show

It was a very quiet show without the familiar voice of Manuel which is usually heard throughout the day discussing and explaining the art of bonsai to anyone who is interested. It was a very good show and had lots of excellent trees on display in the exhibition and by the local clubs.

NEW Bronze Figures for 2013

John Trott at Mendip Bonsai Studio will have samples of the NEW bronze figures at the Swindon ‘Winter Image’ show on the 24th Feb 2013. Magical Accent Show at Failands

Well it was certainly a different show. Helped by the lovely warm weather. It was a first in the UK and Europe, so was a bit of a gamble, I for one really enjoyed the day and took away so many ideas for my own collection.
