Marc Bauwens Bonsai

If you are looking to increase your bonsai collection then you must check out Marc Bauwens Bonsai Nursery in Belgium. We contacted Marc and arranged a visit and wow did he have some phenomenol trees in stock. 

‘t Veerle Japanese Garden and Bonsai Centre

During our recent trip to Holland, we called in at ‘t Veerle in Belgium which is a hidden gem of Japanese Bonsai trees in particular Pinus parviflora and Satsuki Azalea. They also have a large collection of Niwaki garden trees plus Koi too, all set in a great landscaped garden with adjoining resturant.

Bonsai @ RHS Gardens, Wisley

On a recent trip out to the RHS Gardens at Wisley, and we caught up with the Bonsai collection and Japanese Garden that has been donated by Dawn and Peter Chan of Herons Bonsai Nursery. The autumn colour on some of the Maples was fabulous

Bonsai @ Kew Gardens

This is one area of Kew gardens I have not been to before, and it is set out behind the new Alpine House in a quiet corner of Kew gardens near the School of Horticulture. It is a modest collection on display but this forms part of Kew’s wider bonsai tree collection.

If you want nursery stock conifers for bonsai, particularly unusual and rare varieties then the place to go is Swanborough Conifers in Woodborough near Pewsey. It is owned and run by Mark Harvey who is a master of grafting
