The next Heathrow Bonsai Show is on Sunday the 22nd Oct 2017
at the Harlington Sports Centre, Pinkwell Lane, Harlington, Middlesex, UB3 1PB.

Dianne’s interest in bonsai started in 1977 when she started with some small trees and planting seeds. She started by planting a Zelkova Elm seed and the tree is still alive today which is great going some 40 years later so she is fairly competent with bonsai. She joined Swindon Bonsai club in 2013 and her first ever bonsai tree and the one she will always remember is a double pink and white flowering peach tree but it sadly got peach leaf curl and died.
This Saturday we were fortunate to have a whole day with Chris Thomas at a workshop at Swindon. It was well attended by club members who brought in a whole range of their bonsai trees for help and advice from Chris.

This month we held an open tree critique, and invited our members to bring in their trees for open discussion with new ideas, feedback and suggestions. These are usually bonsai you have but no idea in what direction it could be going in.
The Test Valley Borough Council Wood Fair at Zions Hill Copse, Chandlers Ford was a superb event again, held on the first Saturday in September every year and was well attended by the local residents of the area. For the second year now, a bonsai display was put on by Solent and Eastleigh Bonsai Societies and supported by Southampton Bonsai Trees.
Another fun day out for Swindon bonsai club at the nearby Wanborough Show. We had a small bonsai display which received a very positive response.
The Test Valley Woodfair is back, this year on Saturday 2nd September 2017 at Zion’s Hill Copse, Chandlers Ford in Hampshire. It is a free event and the activities are all through the woodland and nature reserve for one day.
