Fraxinus hupehensis is a species that is not commonly used in the UK as bonsai but Fraxinus excelsior is often seen which is native to the UK. Glyptostrobus pensilis or otherwise known as the Chinese swamp cypress was a great find at the BCI Convention in China as a bonsai. It makes a stunning tree in its natural environment but also an impressive bonsai too.

Ikebana, floral displays and points of interest from the Bonsai Exposition in France. There were some extra elements of interest around the whole show with small corner displays, and the central stage had a large display of Japanese items.

There was a good selection of bonsai traders at the Bonsai Exposition in Neuville-saint-Rémy in France this weekend. Some beautiful bonsai pots, bonsai trees and other bonsai sundries were on sale.
