As part of the Bonsai Clubs International (BCI) Convention we got to visit Guangzhou Haizhu district Peihong Primary School (广州市海珠区培红小学), South China Bonsai heritage base. It was a fantastic field trip and we were met to an audience of the children who sang a greeting and provided us all with a range of gifts and presents. They cordially invited us into to their school and showed us around the bonsai within the grounds.
This book has gained a lot of attention since it began production, and deservedly so. One of very few books available targeting specifically smaller shohin sized trees, and an intermediate to advanced audience – it covers a series of case studies of Roland’s own trees through many years of development. His writing style is both fun and informative
Wow, what an amazing collection of Shohin and Mame trees on display at the recent open air Bonsai Clubs International Convention in Guangzhou, China. This was a stunning outdoor series of displays set off with a good backdrop and a very visually clean image being presented. It was great to see so many styles of bonsai stand & display and some really stood out from the rest.
At this years Bonsai Clubs International Convention (BCI) in Guangzhou in China there were a good range of demonstrators and speakers from around the world. They were demonstrating styling, bending branches, wiring, jin and shari creation and pot making.
In addition to the Bonsai exhibition at the Bonsai Clubs International Convention (BCI) there was the Asia-Pacific Bonsai and Viewing Stone convention and exhibition which was held in the Science Hall in Guangzhou in China. There was a stunning collection of viewing stones of all shapes, sizes and colours and it was beautiful.

Congratulations to Newbury and District Bonsai Society for receiving a large Gold medal for their display at the recent Royal County of Berkshire Show near Newbury Show in September. A good diversity of tree species, sizes and good overall composition of the display.
