Congratulations to Tony Oswin for a very successful and fun bonsai tree sale. It was a great event and one we hope will occur again next year as it was well received by all who attended.

What an amazing day, it has given us all a greater appreciation of the time, work and detail that goes into making bonsai pots. It was a lot of fun too; we were all engrossed in our pot making throughout the day and what made the day was David Jones from Walsall Studio ceramics. He is an excellent tutor and gave clear demonstrations of each stage of the pot making process, with a light-hearted and considerate approach.

Had fun at the Bonsai Traders show at Capel Manor on Sunday, some great displays of bonsai as well as a good selection of traders. It was combined with the home and garden show so it was well attended with a good atmosphere.
We are letting people know that at our next club meeting, on 30th June, is an auction of the remaining trees of our past Solent member the late Jon Sykes.
Today we attended our yearly visit to the Milton Lilbourne Fayre, a lovely event organised by the local community. We used our new marquee which gave us room for a workshop area which the public enjoyed and they asked many questions.
What a diverse range of plants under one roof, such a collection was phenomenal to see. It was a fun show with a lot of interest in cacti and succulents from everyone who came along to the annual British Cactus and Succulent Society Show Wiltshire Branch at Melksham Assembly Halls on Saturday 24th June 2017.
