Wiring was the theme for this months workshop for our members. Some like it, some loath it. The process can be fiddly and time consuming but learning to do it well can help bring a better structure and a precisely defined look to your trees.

We decided to revisit the gardens at RHS Wisley today, the Glasshouse has an exceptional quantity and variety of plants. Also, we were surprised to see the Bonsai garden has been rebuilt, sponsored by Dawn and Peter Chan of Herons Bonsai. The layout is now much simpler, with paving stones, gravel and a few japanese garden accoutrements in the mix. You will have to excuse the poor quality of photography due to the overwhelming amount of precipitation we recieved.

Congratulations to Ian Stewardson, John Armitage and Mark & Ritta Cooper who all won awards at the show.
The show was well attended and boasted a good variety of species in the club displays section. This is a great opportunity to pick up some sundries ready for the approaching repotting season. Good to talk with Ken Leaver from Windybank and Lee Verhorevoort, as well as Davey Jones from Wallsall Ceramics, Kaizen Bonsai and Adrian Long’s UK Bonsai Turntables.
