As the sun was shinning today, here is a continuation of the bright things to come with a selection of flowering bonsai trees that have featured on our website over the past 2 years…and you may see examples of flowering Cherries as well as a few other species at our forth coming Winter Image Bonsai Show in Swindon on the 24th February.
John Trott at Mendip Bonsai Studio will have samples of the NEW bronze figures at the Swindon ‘Winter Image’ show on the 24th Feb 2013. He will be taking orders for delivery in early March or collection from him. Having a great passion for Taiwan Figs meant that it was hard for me to choose from the vast selection of Figs whilst shopping at Lodder Bonsai in Holland this year. They sell such a wide range of tropical tree species for anyone who has the space indoors to keep them.
Congratulations must go again to the Federation of British Bonsai Societies for being awarded The Holford Medal for the 2nd time in 3 years and also to those members of Swindon and District Bonsai Society whose trees were present on the display. The medal is in honour of exhibits of plants and or flowers staged by an amateur group or groups of amateurs at an RHS Show in the UK and this related to the bonsai display from 2012 at Chelsea Flower show.
Our Winter Image show is fast approaching on the 24th February and you will be able to see a great collection of deciduous bonsai trees on display to their full advantage without their leaves, so you can admire their tracery and branch formation. However, this is not to say that you not also see some great evergreen examples on display too as they have the added advantage of always being in full foliage.
Here are more fabulous prizes have been donated to our Swindon Winter Image raffle on the Sunday 24th February and this time from Gerrit Lodder of the Hoka-en Bonsai Studio and Lodder Bonsai BV in Holland.
