Show time has come around so quickly, and the Swindon Winter Image Show tends to be the first show in the UK to start the season off and it did not disappoint with so many amazing trees on display from Club Members, Visiting Clubs and Societies plus all the Individual exhibitors and traders.
So a big thank you to everyone who attended and to all those involved in this year’s show. We had a record number of people through the door and the show felt busier than ever. There was truly a great atmosphere and we sincerely hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

Congratulations to Mark and Ritta Cooper for their award winning displays at Noelanders Trophy XVI. This year we are delighted to have John Armitage displaying at our Swindon Winter Image Show on Sunday 22nd February 2015 in addition to providing expertise and advice and carrying out a demonstration during the day. So for your chance to learn more about bonsai and particularly Shohin, then come along to the show and meet John and watch his demonstration.
I have only just found out today that John Pitt Ceramics has been working on a NEW Range of shohin pots and they will be on show for the first time at the 2015 Swindon ‘Winter Image’ show on Sunday the 22nd Feb. It is explained in an earlier post that John is the main Award sponsor for the Winter Image show, so a great opportunity to see this new range.
A big thank you to Jake Hobson of Niwaki who is not only going to be a judge at our show and also a trader but also has kindly donated a Kanekoma Higonokami Japanese folding knife as a prize for our raffle at the Swindon Bonsai Winter Image Show. This knife is a traditional design from Kanekoma with a handforged 3″ folded SK steel blade. The raffle will be held on Sunday 22nd February at 1pm and for your chance to win this prize or one of the many others, don’t forget to come along and buy your raffle tickets.
It is always fun to go on a bonsai shopping trip and we were not disappointed on arrival at Lodder Bonsai near Harmelen in the Netherlands to find a new shipment of trees had just arrived plus the nursery as always was full of stunning bonsai trees of all species, shapes, styles and price ranges.
